This past weekend I got to do something that’s been on my bucket list since we moved here…I got to go to Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport, Maine!

As you guys know, Cam and I travel to KPT a few times a year and it truly is one of our “happy places”. Christmas Prelude is one of the biggest holiday events in all of New England and after visiting, I now know what all the fuss is about! It’s so festive and the whole town gets decked out!
You can find information about Christmas Prelude and the schedule here.

The reality of Prelude is that it is very busy! This was one of the busiest seasons they had ever had and that being said, these streets didn’t look anything like these photos I’m posting here. These streets are PACKED with people all excited and dressed in holiday gear (I even saw Buddy the Elf a few times!). I got these photos early as the sun came up to be able to get some clean shots without cars and people going by. I can’t recommend doing this enough as It gives you a whole other vibe while visiting!

It did start getting busier around 7:30-45, but it was 100% worth waking up early!
I stayed with my dear friend Tiffany and her family on this trip and we had so much fun! They have two young boys so I followed them around for activities and It was cool to see their faces light up as Santa approached on his lobster boat down the river. 🙂

The shops and restaurants are all decked out and there is always something going on during the weekends! As you walk through town you will see a lot of spots to go jump in on the festivities. Tiffany and I caught the lower village tree lighting the first night and even got to hear some carolers. We grabbed a bite at Batson River Brewing that night and I have to say the interiors looked right out of England! It was so beautiful and incredibly decked out!

I also had the opportunity to visit the local FatFace store right in the heart of downtown Kennebunkport in Dock Square. In fact, this tree you see below is right next to the shop! I was greeted by friendly staff and even the manager was passing out sips and beverages for customers to drink as they arrived!

I remember the first time I visited a FatFace in London in 2012- I immediately fell in love and always go visit when I’m back there. It’s been so so cool living by FatFace shops in Connecticut and New England and I shop there ALL the time. I also have to note, this is one of Cameron’s absolute favorite stores. We always pop in and he likes to buy his jackets and sweaters here!

With the help of the lovely Carolyn ( thank you for being awesome, Carolyn!), I tried on 3-5 looks in store! I admit it was SO hard to pick a favorite as they have so many cute things!
Everything is very good quality and well made. As soon as you touch the fabric you will see just what I mean! The coats are great for cold and rainy New England in the winter and really you can’t go wrong with anything here. For sizing reference, all of the clothing that you see below is a size 14.

The first look is the Sussex Jacket and sweater with their yellow beanie and gloves. I need this jacket!

The second look was this beautiful longer tan waterproof coat with this lovely white sweater and beret.

The third look was this super chunky knit cardigan over their navy blue corduroy long sleeve top. They have this in a few different colors!

In the end, I picked outfit two! I liked the classic look of it so much and knew it would be perfect for an upcoming trip we have to London. The coat is waterproof which was a big plus!

I really love this black purse/backpack and then this brown leather over-the-shoulder bag – it was so hard to pick between these! In the end, I picked the brown leather shoulder bag as it fit my camera nicely and had a good feeling when I put it on. I also loved these cute brown leather boots with a little chunky heel. These are very comfortable to walk in and well made.

Thank you so much for having me FatFace KPT! I can’t wait to visit again next year. Also, I’m so excited to go to the hub of FatFace in a few weeks in London! I’ll be headed to one of the stores there to check it out as well – stay tuned to see where we go and what the store looks like in England!

Happy Holidays!
